Rob’s Snaps!

A winning combination

We both worked from home today. I am permanently home based, my wife normally works at her organisation’s head office, with occasional days working from home. I love having her around, we tend to be absorbed in work most of the time, but there are plenty of moments when one of us looks up from the screen, rolls eyes and then vents about that phone call or email that just came in. It’s healthy to get things off your chest.

We both worked fairly late, it seems to be an inevitable consequence of working from home, and so after dinner a game or two of cards and finishing off the bottle of red was the way we ended the day.

This particular red is a blend of Mataro, Cinsault, and Carignan. We discovered it last weekend, it’s produced by Brash Higgins in McLaren Vale. The blurb on the back label reads:

“Co-fermenting the exotic spice of Mataro (40%) with the perfume and red fruit of Cinsault (30%) and the earthy warmth of Carignan (30%), this MCC is a deliciously complex wine full of peppery notes and wild roses while remaining fresh and focused.”

I concur.
