Tazones.

Charles V inherited the throne of Spain in 1516, when he was himself 16. He sailed from Flanders to Spain, intending, apparently, to land at Santander, but an errant navigator took him instead to Tazones, a very humble fishing village. Since Tazones was deemed unworthy, he was transported some 15km to Villaviciosa, where there were ducal houses, and is said therefore to have passed his first night in Spain in Villaviciosa. It was in Tazones though that his royal foot first touched his new kingdom.
Tazones is now, as it was then, a fishing village; and though it´s now considered at least equally as a tourist attraction, I´ve chosen in the extra to show a small mess of lobster pots. Empty.
