Learning day by day

Iris

So I have treated myself to some flowers. They will be glorious when they open. This Iris has just opened and made me smile.

Today consisted of Will taking an age to do his school work. Concentration span of a gnat. When he was finally done we went for a run. The plan was 5k but his Garmin didn't record as far as mine so (at his insistence) we ran further so his watch said 3.1miles, mine registering 3.5miles. after lunch and his class meeting he did tomorrow's English. I think he's planning a film fest tomorrow as he only has a spelling test and maths left to do after violin. Although he is talking about going for a run, I may have made a monster. Amazing what a bit of bling can do for enthusiasm!

Carys did pilates before breakfast, thanks to Jenna's videos. Then she worked all morning. She struggled this afternoon with Paper2 Eng Lang assignment. So we have found some 'How to' guides for her to work through before she tries again. Possiby even more important that she does this assignment well if her grade will be down to teacher assessment. All her exams have now been cancelled as a month after GCSE's were cancelled, the boards have cancelled iGCSE's. Now we wait for the outcome of the Ofqual consultation as to what she actually has to do to get a grade.

The evening consisted of the usual zoom, zoom and more zoom. Carys had her two ballet classes, first ABA with Katie, then Sander Blommaert's Intermediate class. Will then had Scouts, which involved making pancakes so I had to be around.

I am now sitting with a white wine and sewing badges on the boy's scout shirt.
