Bullfinch, Buds And Blue Sky

What a lift a sunny morning with spring round the corner gives. It was lovely to hear the birdsong on our morning walk. I spotted a female bullfinch surrounded by fat buds about to burst. Her plumage is grey but has a very subtle slight tint of pink. She reminded me of the dead female bullfinch that I took to school for the nature table when I was a child.

After lunch I fancied shooting macro so put my kneeling pads on and we went bug hunting. No luck. :( I was surprised that I was only able to find this one female bud on the hazel in the hedge. The male lambs' tail catkins are dangling beautifully releasing clouds of yellow pollen.
