Female duck by the rushes

Another bright day with spring in the air after the mists had cleared. This female mallard was sticking close to the rushes but not hiding. Quite the reverse. It seemed she was very proud of her plumage and my camera wasn't intruding. The drake on the far side of the water didn't seem as interested, as yet. What gorgeous wintry colours.
