Making tracks

Whnever it snows the fox's nightime wanderings are revealed last night's here and the night's before, it's dragging footprint distinctly recognisable. We see foxes and in the spring and summer, cubs, at the bottom of the garden but only after snow do we see the adult comes up to right under the bedroom window and up the narrow gap between us and our neighbour.
Cubs sometimes come up near the house whereupon I bang on the window. They give me a dirty look but casually slink off as if that was what they meant  to do all along.
I've heard the mating barks lately after dark so I expect there will be more cubs icoming along. Very sweet but they need to know their place!
