Snowstorm sandwich

You know when you set off with your sunnies on because the sun is shining then it disappears and is replaced by heavy snow fall. That was mum and I today. Sun came out again half an hour later.

I took the old wooden mantle piece to a chap on the industrial estate who has the right kinda machinery for proper wood work. He made it look so easy like a hot knife through butter. He told me it was teak. I knew it was some sort of hardwood. I’d never been able to put drawing pins in for Christmas decorations. I now have a smaller wooden mantle ready for our new smaller fireplace.
