Midday Stroll

Midday stroll around campus, paths winding up and down through the redwoods. On hot sunny days it smells like camping, but today was mono and chilly in the shade. Instead of deer and coyotes we came across a flock of wild turkeys. Well maybe not so wild. At one point I counted eighteen birds in a variety of colors. Like chickens, it looks like they enjoy a good dust bath; they were ruffling around in the mulch and seemed quite content, at least for awhile. They are always on the move, bobbing and dipping and fluttering their gorgeous feathers. They are very big animals.

I think we’re in for a stretch of cooler weather, maybe some rain.
