Snowy boots!

A lovely bright and sunny day. More snow overnight and it's beautiful!   The 'feels like' temperature, taking account of the wind chill, was down at -5.4°C when I went out to give the hens their warm porridge this morning!

Perfect weather for a walk but when I go to get Lottie's coat, she runs to Mike to try and hide from me!  She detests it, although without it she shivers and trembles and quivers, with her tummy all tucked up and her ears freezing, especially in the hailstorms!

We had a super walk over the hill and through the old army camp. Usually, at this time of year, it is thick mud up there but now it is frozen solid, with the puddles in the gateways, sheets of ice, strong enough to bear my weight.

Lots of rabbit and bird tracks in the snow, a few cat ones too, but I couldn't make out any stoat ones.  Super views over to the hills on Hoy and to Flotta and the oil terminal. It is really beautiful. A perfect day for a walk, if you are well wrapped up!

Lottie came home lovey and snug, but bringing a lot of snow balls with her!
