The Baltic Beast from the East

The Baltic Beast from the East just keeps on giving and I woke this morning to a white pristine world and a sizeable dump of snow.
The Quartermile rabbits had been out and about early, frolicking round the Dower House leaving hundreds of paw prints.
From time to time during the morning another snow shower would turn the view outside into a white out, but after it passed the sun would appear in a blue sky.
My task today was to bake some gluten free ginger biscuits for a friend. This involved a shopping expedition to buy gluten free flour and xanthan gum (don’t ask, I don’t know either). The biscuits were duly made and although they tasted lovely, quality control, they looked nothing like the recipe picture. Still, the biscuits were duly delivered without the picture so it’s only I who know what they should have looked like.

Another day has almost disappeared. It is amazing how used I am becoming to quite an insular, barren life style when a power cut or a small baking defines the day.
