The Woodland Garden (Tuesday 9th February 2021)

Following the ice cold night and the attempts of snow during the morning, I decided to quickly survey the Woodland Garden. There were signs of growth, including some crocus shoots (in Extras) but I chose these polyanthus flowers as my Blip, after a failed attempt last month. They aren't red or heart-shaped or especially tiny so they don't fit for Tiny Tuesday.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
The Supremes - Stoned Love  (recorded March-June 1970, New York NY and Detroit MI)
The news of Mary Wilson's death sent me back to the Supremes catalogue and I listened to some of the records they made after Diana Ross had left to go solo. She was replaced by Jean Terrell, who became their lead singer, though Mary Wilson's role was advanced so that she sometimes shared lead vocals with Jean Terrell. On Stoned Love, their biggest post-Diana hit, Jean Terrell sings lead and also joins in the backing vocals with Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong.
The single caused controversy because radio stations thought it was about getting stoned using drugs, and Berry Gordy allegedly hated the song as he thought it brought the label into disrepute. Ironically, all this could have been avoided if they had corrected the accidental mislabelling of the title, which was actually Stone Love, and which is what is clearly sung on the record, 'Stone' meaning 'Solid'.
