We’re on a road to nowhere...

Very chilly today .
Full compliment of staff as well.
Geordie here scanning the other hill blackie ewes this morning. Took Littlemiss across next door for a look as she was keen to see how it was done.
Just about every pipe and trough in every shed frozen. Took till 3 pm to get the last lot defrosted and I lost count of how many kettles full it took. A minor panic when all the trip switches went in the house . After a bit of telephone advice from our friendly sparky the fault was eventually traced to the kitchen kettle. Left the base to dry out on top of the Aga for a couple of hours and it seems to be working again.
A bit Baltic tonight again so no doubt everything will be to defrost tomorrow again. It was at -9 when I checked the cows at 10 pm tonight. Felt a lot colder though.
This was at the darkening tonight on a very quick dog plod !
