Another day, another lake..

Abbey Lakes in Upholland was once a supply lake for the nearby Benedictine Priory. The priory was dissolved in 1536 but the medieval church of St Thomas the Martyr remains.
Today Abbey Lakes is a haven for wildlife and fishing. It was very cold today and the lake was quite frozen in places. Most of the ducks seemed to be sheltering in the shrubbery and weren’t at all interested in my box of duck food!
