Poplar Avenue in the snow

Another sub-zero walk. This time I made sure I had my thermals on. I put up a hare just after this shot and later heard at least three woodpeckers echoing around the woods. I was trailed by several Robins along the way and also noted more Song-Thrushes than normal - I expect they are finding it difficult to feed. A thaw is forecast for Monday.

The ditches and dykes are still frozen and I almost became a cropper as I tentively crossed one and it cracked, loudly, behind me as I stepped up the bank.
