Shopping Trip

It had to be done, we donned snowboots, slung rucksacs on our backs and tramped over to Aldi for essentials.

For the return, taking the path to the park, we stopped under the trees to observe a pair of birds when this chap strode past, whereupon said birds retreated - I think they were coal tits, nothing particularly special.

Again we skirted the park, many children enjoying sledging on the compacted snow. The path passes housing, where the Chinese New Year is celebrated with red lanterns hung on their bushes and banners on their door (see extra).

Once home I took photos of the splendid icicles hanging from our rones, a tiny individual icicle in the Chamaecyparis. Also of holly berries - to my delight the birds have finally seeded us a female specimen, I must remember to cultivate this one - these in the extra as well.

Regrettably, the icicles have been removed as they were hanging directly above the path and front door and I was fearful of the postie being impaled while delivering the Radio Times if one fell, with a resulting lawsuit.

Apparently today's date 12022021 is not only a palindrome, readable backwards, but also, in a digital font, an ambigram, readable upside down.
