Wigsey Lane Warburton

It wasn't that long ago that these trees were joined up by an ancient hedgerow on both sides of the road.
Grubbed out by the, then, Corporate Landowner, to ease the passage of farm vehicles from one side to the other.
An important micro ecosystem was lost, and whilst the land under cultivation is productive, for now, the land is sterile in terms of wild life. Balance has been lost .
Hedgerows allow many species safe passage from one area to another. I remember, only a few years ago, this land was full of birdsong. Not anymore.
