WATCHING

What a difference from yesterday. I thought it was going to take a week before spring showed up, but it was lovely and mild over the road in the cemetery today. There were two kestrels hunting over the graves, and other birds were busy either courting or disputing territory. Crocuses are coming up among the snowdrops and I also saw - for the first time in that cemetery - a weasel. Since it disappeared among the undergrowth below where this kestrel was perching, I'm sure the kestrel must have seen it too, but showed no inclination to go after it. Do they go for weasels or are the weasels too feisty and aggressive for them to tackle, I wonder?
