Winged Elm Seeds

Immature seeds of the Winged Elm, a native Florida tree. Although we have a mature Winged Elm in our yard, I've never seen it produce seeds. This one resides at the DogPark and is full of these tiny hairy seeds. I guess that it's a female and our tree is male. That may or may not be accurate but...it's the best I got!
