Hard Rain

I was at my mother's house again today, to cook lunch for her and help her cleaner with chores.
While we were at work, it started to rain. In the still frozen air and on frozen ground, the rain turned to ice, and soon everything was glazed over.

Before I could drive home, I had to scrape a solid layer of ice off my car windows, and when I got home, there was a fringe of little icicles on the back of my car, where the water had run off.

The drive was no fun, but most roads had already been de-iced and were safe. On the smaller, residential streets you could have gone ice skating though, and I saw quite a few cars with fresh dents.
