Hearth hog

Happy Shrove Tuesday everyone. We had yummy pancakes for breakfast, with a generous dollop of yoghurt, blueberries and maple syrup on top. Scrummy.
Today is also the 50th anniversary of Britain's currency decimalisation. I remember that date in 1971 very well, as I was decimalisation correspondent of the old London Evening News when I worked there as a very young reporter. I preferred my next role though, as motoring correspondent, and I have specialised in writing about cars ever since.
The weather has gone from snowy to wet. All the white stuff has finally melted, but it's now very damp and still cold. So Madoc the Welsh mountain dog has become a hearth hog. Together with his thick fur coat, the log fire should keep him cosy.
