Some street or other, fairly typical for the centre, with the Citadel in the distance.

We have minibuses that take us from home or school into the malls, the bazaars and various restaurants, but it's been hard to get to grips with the city itself. So today I tried to put a few of them together: got the bus to the Langa bazaar (bought: lounging breeks, embossed tin cup, midget frying pan for one egg) then plotted a course on foot into the Citadel, which is not far and easy enough once you figure it out, and this above is the way - down the side of the market, along 60m Street to the overpass, over it, down the street beside the mosque, through the motorbike meet-up (bit odd - but if you need to hire one of the 'Shining Transport' rickshaw things, that's where they gather), straight ahead and turn left here.

I hit it around midday so the mosques were in full broadcast mode, there were thousands of people hanging around, mostly men, and the bazaar was largely dark. So more pictures in the Citadel (where there is evidence of some serious work going on) and some annoyance from an amorous policeman, then a taxi to Ainkawa to find out about buses to Turkey, honey cakes and tea in the patisserie, to the bottle shops for a couple of Efes, another taxi to Majidi Mall where they confiscated my Efes (bags are searched - there are typically signs saying 'no weapons' but nothing to say you can't carry alcohol, and anyway I know they sometimes overlook it), a little more shopping and home on another school minibus.
