Sunrise

Had the day off. Started with high aspirations of going on a 5-mile hike to catch the sunrise. This would have meant getting out of bed at 4am. Ouch. Bitterly cold weather and laziness changed my plans into a less ambitious, but more realistic, 1/4 mile hike a few minutes from the house.

Took a while to watch the sun creep over the landscape, while I reflected on the last few days and reminded myself to breathe.

At home, I tidied up the mess I’ve left around the house before R got back. (I can be so messy when I don’t have anyone to impress!) Prepared a nice dinner of salad and Swedish meatballs and spent a few hours catching up on our last two weeks apart.
