Witch Hazel

The morning was dry which was a bonus as heavy rain was forecasted.
Met L and we went to Queens Park for a walk ...... I haven't been there for months so it was good to see some different trees and a different pond.

Walking back to L's flat, where I had left my car, I spotted this small Witch Hazel plant. According to Google the leaves, bark and twigs are used to make medicine which can be taken orally or applied directly to the skin to relieve itching and other skin ailments.

The clusters of yellow flowers appear from December till late on in February
