Blue Pencil

I see it every day on the way to work and wonder who threw it away and why, when they had taken the time to sharpen it.
Was it the wrong kind of blue?
Did they lose it in a hole in their pocket?
Were they hoping it would germinate and grow a blue pencil tree?
Anyway, if it's still there on Monday, I've decided to adopt it and put it to good (blue) use.
