Open Sesame

It was a lovely afternoon, and I went out in the garden for some cleaning, pruning and weeding. Rani and Chaiyya sat behind the closed door, watching me and Sammy & Baloo (the neighbours' cats), who joined me.

They looked very interested, so P and I agreed to open the doors for them for the first time.

Maybe it was because of the two big cats in our garden that Rani didn't venture out at all. She just sat in the open door and sniffed the air. Chaiyya showed more courage, she got out for a few minutes, but no further than the doormat.

Then Baloo and Sammy came to say hello. There was no aggression, but our young cats quickly got spooked by the big fluffballs. Chaiyya hissed at them, and ran inside. Rani stayed in the door, but then the boys tried to get into our house (see extra), and we drew a line at that. So the door closed again. Our kittens seemed quite happy about that - they'd had enough excitement for a day.
