Georgos of the Hibees

In 1979, Hibernian Football Club signed Georgas Bestakis on a free transfer from Galatasaray in the mistaken belief that the name was an alias for Geeorge Best. But no, that was his name. However as he bore such an uncanny likeness to the Northern Irish wizard, he was passed off as George Best to the Easter Road faithful, and. played an undisclosed number of games for Hibs. He then moved on to Tampa Bay Rowdies, where he found the climate more to his liking.
