Jardin Instinctif

This is part of the lovely Jardin Instinctif in the Les Grangettes nature reserve looking out onto Lake Geneva. The extra shows the inland section. All the sculptures are made from drift wood. It is free to wander around so I did, with a friend, on our walk this afternoon. Part of the nature reserve was closed off due to flooding, caused by a dam built by the beavers. There was also lots of evidence of wild boars, although, luckily, we didn’t come across any. We saw lots of water birds from one of the hides including a Common Teal, which I don’t think I’ve seen before.

It was a day of two halves as this morning we skied for the first two hours that the pistes were open. It was like doing a wildlife safari on ski lifts as we saw three different groups of chamois and two foxes fighting.
