Saddle Tramp

From around 1990/1 when we moved horse stables to a ranch at Stephansberg in the county of Fürstenfeldbruck to the west of Munich, we got involved with a small group of riders who formed a legal "club" called the "Ammerseer Satteltramps" - "Ammer Lake Saddle Tramps". I say legal as that brings tax advantages for what was basically a fun & drink society! I guess we were about 30 people including several non-riders.

The Ammer Lake is one of five situated to south and west of Munich known as the Fünfseenland, a beautiful, relaxed, historical region reachable with the Munich over/underground train services.

The club would organise an annual tournament, we had a monthly "Stammtisch" - regulars meet up in a pub/beer garden and from time to time an organised ride. Today was one such ride.

The map on the "Certificate" is sadly printed in the wrong direction and difficult to read, but started to the west of the Ammer Lake at the "Kittenalm" ranch which was one of our main bases, an isolated ranch, once a notorious pub/beer garden in the 70s and 80s and rented by the also legendary Jeanette and Walter who we bought our American Quarter Horse from in 1995.

It was a great day with "refreshment" breaks organised along the way. A look at the Geotag in Satellite mode gives some idea of the countryside.
