Out and about in East Street SE1

Another walk today inspired by yesterday’s discoveries.

We learnt yesterday when we went round Elephant Park that Charlie Chaplin had lived in East Street just off Old Kent Road. See last extra. So we headed off to East Street or perhaps Chaplin’s Easy Street.

Our first find ( see first extra ) was St Peters Church which had been designed by Sir John Soane. Normally better associated with Lincoln’s Inn Fields, the Bank of England and Dulwich Picture Gallery. I wonder how many of his disciples venture in to these parts. Extras 2 and 3 depict social housing around the 1900’s. In great condition and make for a very enjoyable wander. Pinocchio was on a wall towards the rear of the Aylesbury Estate which has not warn well compared with the other examples of social housing.

My Blip was of a school fence with some lovely patters, words and art creations. No prices for what is in the background.

A roller coaster of a weekend. Stay safe every one.
