Bridging the gap

When out for my morning run I liked this unusual view of the Erskine Bridge. The photo gives an appreciation of the scale of the main pillars as well as the span over the River Clyde. Opened in 1970 to replace the former cable drawn ferry the Erskine Bridge is a multi span cable-stayed box girder bridge spanning the River Clyde in west central Scotland. The bridge connects West Dunbartonshire with Renfrewshire and can be used by all types of motor vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians.
