Bournemouth’s Beryls

It was bad enough having the rental Beryl bikes, now we have the new electric Beryl scooters. Great concept, but pedestrians and wheels don’t mix. Nothing more unsettling than walking down the slope to the beach, and a scooter or cycle unexpectedly flies past.

I would be all for them if we had dedicated cycle lanes, and police enforcing the law. Instead it’s a bit of a free-for-all here, with many having zero respect for the young, elderly and/or vulnerable in their path

Today wasn’t as windy, so we walked down to the pier and back via the Lower Gardens. Passed these parked Beryls, with prospective customers. If nothing else, they worked for today’s blip.
