Purse strings

Thanks to everyone who made such encouraging comments about the  mural mosaic (or mosaic mural - which should it be/does it matter?) that was the subject of my previous blip.

I should emphasize it's not neglected or endangered, it's just not signposted, described or labelled in such a way as to draw attention to it.  Anyway I have made some progress in discovering its history such as that the inspiration and impetus seems to have come from a group of radical artists and cultural activists called The Pioneers who were based in Cardiff in the 1980s and 90s and who instigated a number of community projects and events during that period.

As for funding some explanatory material and a plaque on which to credit all the folk involved that will depend on raising some money. The County Council is notoriously tight with its purse strings.
