A view from a ridge

I took a turn round The Pitches this AM.  I liked the view from Scott Hall Rd to the SW which incl. Parkinson Building,; you can see across the Aire Valley to the M62 ridge at Gildersome, then faintly onto the Pennines. The dip of Saddleworth Moor is visible  to the L of the PB.  I listened to Jackie Kay read from her book about Bessie Smith. It reminded me of my love of Goodtime George Melly's music in the '70s. He introduced me to the Blues, Cole Porter and Jazz. I went to seem him & John Chilton's Feetwarmers at the Theatre Royal, Stratford East in C.1982. GM shone on stage, afterwards I met him and he signed my LP that I bought.
