I decided not to bother with the wiring tonight and have instead started on the edge boards around the scenic side of the layout.  This should let me get started on the scenery whilst still doing a bit of wiring in between.  The idea will be to get the front edge levels sorted before moving onto the tunnel entrances at each end.  I hope that getting away from a flat board with track will start to make a big difference.
