Friends

They say that money can't buy you friends, but...

These are my new friends, and I bought them from the climbing shop. They weren't cheap, and as soon as they get used they'll get all scratched and scuffed up, but they look nice and shiny in their virginal state.

(Technically this type of protection gear are known as spring-loaded camming devices, but the first company to make them sold them as Friends, and the name just stuck, so that what everyone I know calls them.)

The colour-coding on the metal cams (and on the handles and tapes, blurred out in the background) tell you what size they are.

I'm looking forward to using these next month when me & Zak go to the Lake District for some climbing.
