Future food source for a new generation ... ?

Another grey day. Ah, we had sunshine for 10 minutes in the afternoon. But after that the sun was gone and never showed up again. As though ashamed of so much inability.

In the backyard is a small pond which gives some nice blip opportunities in spring. There are frogs croaking, frogs mating, egg-laying frogs, frog spawn and tadpoles. There is also a major threat, the heron. This winter season a heron ate all frogs from the pond. I wonder if other species will come back in spring again ...

I also had 'tenants' in a birdhouse in a tree you can see from the living. There were Tits for the last years and there are a lot of them that stayed around. Some of them were looking already in and around the bird house.

This afternoon, before the sunshine, I spotted this Jay on the roof of the birdhouse. And that's, besides some cats, a major threat for the new youngsters, if they will be in and around the birdhouse in spring ...

As usual last times the picture is made through double window glass. That doesn't add to the quality of the picture ... on the contrary ... :(
