Perfect morning

The first time I saw the heronry at RSPB Middleton Lakes, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I still find it amazing to look up into those trees.

The RSPB have done a lot of work to reduce the deep mud and now have built some lovely bridges and walkways. I hope it doesn’t become too like a theme park. I trust them to know when to stop - and keep it as nature intended.

This morning it was amazing. The birds were happy - and posing.

My extra is my favourite ever photo of a bluetit. On any other day, it might well have been my blip.

I went early, and it was already getting busy. Not difficult to socially distance, though.

Spring sunshine makes the world an even more magical place.
