Quod oculus meus videt

By GrahamColling

It was supposed to be so different!

Imagine the scene. A keen landscape photographer, parked up in a beautiful country lane, contemplating the opportunities for images as the sun rose. He changes into walking boots, zips up the gaiters, throws on a fleece to fight the cold. He grabs a tripod, opens the camera bag and attaches the camera to the quick release plate.

Ready............... but for one thing. No memory card. He searches frantically through the car, no second camera today, no SD card lurking in the cup holder. It's a bust!

I'm sure it has happened to others, but at times like that you feel such a fool. So instead you have a still life study of lichen. A focus stack, using Helicon Remote and Focus, 20 shots. Natural light from a window, diffused by vertical blinds. I also used a piece of white card to bounce light back onto the twig to prevent to much loss of detail.

Note to self - always put a spare card (or two) in the car.
