Newhaven Station

Our walk today took us past the old Newhaven Station. The building has been restored and turned into office space where people can rent desk space and work spaces - or at least, they will be able to, presumably, once lockdown is over and people are allowed to return to offices.
The station was opened in 1879 and is the only survivor of the five Caledonian railway stations on the former Leith branch line. The line closed in 1962. The station is built over the tracks (now the Hawthornvale path) and supported by iron columns. The platforms are still there on the sides of the cycle path.
