No Ordinary Sunday!

I'll bet you can spot the out-of-the-ordinary event in my collage of our Sunday morning ar FBC, Pflugerville right away.  That event happened at the end of the service, so I will tell you about the more normal things first,  Feeling the need to be more united as a congregation while we search for the senior pastor that God has planned for us, we have joined our worship through music once again, so that everybody got to hear the choir and Julie's beautiful rendition of one of my all-time favorite hymns, "In The Garden", accompanied by Susan. Then we raised our voices in some traditional songs and some contemporary songs.  We then heard a report on the Pastor Search committee from Brock, after which our interim pastor, Dr, David Smith, spoke to us about worship and sacrifice using the passage in Genesis 22 where God instructs Abraham to sacrifice his son, Isaac.  Of course, as soon as God saw that Abraham was willing , He provided a ram for the sacrifice instead.  God knew the end from the beginning, but he wanted to let Abraham know how strong his faith in God's love and plans for him, was!..  Our service ended with a sweet marriage proposal from Herb and, of course,we all applauded when Jennifer said yes!  Have you ever been to such a service?  You just never know what will be happening at FBC,Pflugerville, but one thing you can be sure of---we do all that we do to the glory of God.  I am excited for next week----aren't you?
