Scarlet Macaw

Yesterday a huge parrot was seen stuck in one of the trees in the park. The RSPB (Royal Society for Protection of Birds) was called and then the fire brigade, ladders of differing heights were tried when the bird made a final struggle and managed to free itself. The trouble was it had a harness on and it had got caught in the branches. The bird flew off with its bright red harness trailing behind it and everyone clapped except one lady almost hysterical (the owner). The bird settled on the roof of the flats and there it stayed, everyone went home except for the owner who waited for 4 hours with food and a stand in the cold, it has gone now so obviously has gone back to its owner.

It really rather begs the question why is a magnificent bird kept on a leash and in captivity. These birds retail for US$3,000.
