A wreck of a tree

Tucked right on the end of a little ridge of interesting old trees, I walked around the back of this one today (to follow my inquisitive dog) and was amazed to see this sight.
There's some alternative viewpoints in extras, as well as a little patch of snowdrops that were growing just nearby.
