Naturally

Came across a venerable old oak tree that I know I must return to - as the lichens alter, the fern shifts, and mosses encroach, with the changing seasons and even the daily weather patterns.
The lichens here look frosty...but it's a fine, mild day!
The spoon-shaped leaves belong to a fern, Pyrrosia rupestris, Rock Felt-fern that's found quite commonly on rock and tree surfaces.
Made my day!
