Pastel Memories

Finally finished the memorial hanging for/about my paternal grandmother. Christina Louisa.

The large heart in the centre is one side of sewn gift she gave me when I was a young girl. It was to hold handkerchiefs.

I have begun "rescuing" and reusing quality natural fibre cloth and notions. Natural plant-based home dyeing is part of it as is slow stitching, beading, machine sewing.

I'm happy enough with first photo transfer to cloth (her image). The overall finish is in keeping with the tone of the piece, if a little understated.
