Kash Bhattacharya @BudgetTraveller visits Fife

Took a trip over to Fife this morning to the Fife Tourism Conference, where my friend Kash was speaking about the Blogmanay project which he had helped put together to bring 21 international travel bloggers to Scotland for Hogmanay and several days afterwards. They enjoyed wonderful weather and were in St Andrews at the same time as I managed to capture this glorious sunrise in Crail.

Kash's presentation was well received, and he encouraged people to start their own blogging as a way of sharing the passion for their businesses. He is finding a niche for his blogging efforts, writing about Luxury Hostels, which takes him all over the world.

I took this picture to show what a nomadic travel blogger travels with. He has everything he needs with him, except his laptop which he later discovered he had left in the hotel where he was making his speech. There were some anxious moments in the car while he ascertained that our heroine from Scottish Enterprise had the laptop safely stowed and was transporting it back to Edinburgh for him.

This morning I learned that if you are planning on giving a bunch of bloggers (wonder if Jools has a better collective noun?) a lift, remember that they are bloggers in their niche for a reason. Jools, more used to having Trains on the Brain, was on a parallel track when we were trying to meet him. Abishek, who blogs as the Wild Navigator, requires frequent detours to investigate nature in the wild en route to any destination. It was eventful!
