Edinburgh Printmakers Entrance Gates

The Edinburgh Printmakers moved from Union Street to the old Castle Mills / Rubber Factory HQ, Fountainbridge in 2019.  The entrance gates in the photo are designed by Rachel Duckhouse.  She took inspiration from her research into the history of the North British Rubber Co. to create this pattern of cylindrical rolling shapes.  If you haven't been to the Printmakers be sure to go when it opens again.  They've made a fantastic job of transforming the building to a gallery.   Cafe Ink is the fabulous on site cafe which looks onto the courtyard garden.

I actually worked in this building for a few months in 1982 when it was part of Scottish and Newcastle Brewery.  I had the privilege of walking up the rather grand staircase everyday to the Personnel Department!
