The Lone Star State Celebrates Today!

On March 2, 1836, historians believe that 59 men signed the original declaration and five copies at Washington-on-the-Brazos.  They were declaring independence from Mexico and creating the Republic of Texas.  There were still battles to be fought in the struggle to maintain this independence, but it all had to start somewhere in time and we celebrate this as that day!  I had hoped to find a Texas flag that would be small enough to qualify for Tiny Tuesday, but this small design on one of my husband's ties was the best I could do........
