Hidden Ways

This footpath runs alongside the one way system near where I live. It used to connect the Public Assistance Institute (aka The Workhouse) with the town centre and was used by the 'patients' who had jobs in town. On the right of the stream was the large garden of the local doctor who just had to hop across when his services as medical officer were called for.
The workhouse was partly destroyed by a German bomb in 1940 and never reopened. It is now a housing complex.
