Bonsai Pine

I did a bit of guerilla tree planting at the end of 2019, following the fires on the moor that year, and I went to check in on a few of them today. They seem to be alive, despite not having grown more than a few inches through all of last year. I'm wondering if I might inadvertently have stumbled upon some clever bonsai technique. 

And thank you for your kindness in respect to that burst of sun through the mist. The moment did only last a few seconds. I do seem to have a knack for being in the right place!

This shot actually serves as a useful metaphor for my writing at the moment. It's growing, but very, very slowly!
