Catch 22 by Joseph Heller

First published in 1961, I stumbled across it in the public library in 1968 when I was working at Coventry Labour Exchange.

I always pick this when asked my favourite book.

2. The Book NOT to Read

Closing Time by Joseph Heller

First published in 1994 , I bought it when it came out in paperback.

It is the sequel to Catch22 and I have tried to read it many times. Now in lockdown I ahave almost got to the end of its 550 odd pages.

Dear reader, do not make my mistake.

I quote an anonymous reviewer:

" For anybody who has read Catch22 it will be a disappointment.

For anybody who has not read Catch22 it will be incomprehensible"
